Plant-based skincare, small batches

Skincare with a short ingredient list

Serums, creams and balms made from cold-pressed oils and botanicals. No fragrance for the sake of fragrance, nothing you’d need a chemistry degree to read.

What goes in, and what doesn’t

  • Ten ingredients or fewer

Every formula fits on the front of the jar — you can read the whole list in ten seconds.

  • Tried on us first

We use each new batch ourselves for two weeks before it goes on sale.

  • Help with your skin type

Describe your skin to our assistant and get a routine of two or three products, not ten.

Made in a kitchen-sized lab

Petal & Pure began when our founder, a pharmacist, couldn’t find a cream for her daughter’s sensitive skin that didn’t come with a paragraph of additives. So she made one. We still mix every batch by hand in our Asheville studio, no more than 200 jars at a time, each labeled with the date it was made.

In their words

  • “My cheeks used to go red after every cleanser. Two weeks on the Calm Serum and I’ve stopped carrying concealer.”

    Laura M.

  • “The balm lives in my coat pocket. Lips, cuticles, my son’s chapped cheeks — one tin does it all.”

    Sofia R.

Good to know

Which products suit my skin type?

Start with the chat: describe your skin — oily T-zone, dry cheeks, redness — and it will suggest two or three products. Or write to us and a person will answer.

What exactly is in your products?

The full ingredient list is on every jar and in the product description. Plant oils, butters and extracts, plus a gentle preservative so an opened cream stays safe for six months.

Are they suitable for sensitive skin?

The Calm Serum and Daily Cream are fragrance-free and were made for reactive skin. Still, try anything new on your inner arm for 24 hours before using it on your face.

How long does a jar last?

Used morning and evening, a 50 ml cream lasts about two months and a 30 ml serum around six weeks.
